• 1 large can Dinty Moore beef stew, or equivalent
• 1 pint, Jack Daniels, no equivalent

Prepare coal bed. Open stew can, place on coal bed. Open Jack Daniels bottle, place in mouth. Stir stew in can using official Franklin spoon. Place Jack Daniels bottle in mouth. Repeat until stew is piping hot. Using handle, carefully reach for stew can to remove from coal bed. Lift can and set on rock to cool. Remove visible ashes from stew. When no longer piping hot, grope for can and overturn into ashes. Drink remainder of Jack Daniels.
